Dr. Pernille Kjærgaard Christiansen

Pernille Kjærgaard Christiansen is a researcher and lecturer with a multidisciplinary background in health innovation and communication. She is affiliated with UCL University College in Denmark, where she teaches business and communication on the Multimedia Design programme and has previously served as semester coordinator.

She holds a PhD from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), where her research focused on behavioral change and healthy lifestyle interventions for postpartum women. Her dissertation, Healthy Together – A behavioral change intervention to support a healthy lifestyle postpartum, was developed as a digital solution within the My Hospital app, combining push notifications, podcasts, and exercise videos to support new mothers.

Pernille also holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration with a specialization in globalization, communication, and marketing, as well as a BA in International Business and Modern Languages. She has studied in France and has experience leading international projects and partnerships across Europe.

She has served as project manager for InnoEvent, an innovation event that brings together students and healthcare professionals to co-create future health solutions, and has facilitated international modules and summer schools focused on welfare innovation.
